You received an email or LinkedIn message from us. Here's why.
We're HiveHQ. We help brands grow on TikTok Shop.

This notice explains what information we use, where we got it, why we use it, who may process it, how long we keep it, and how you can ask us to stop.

Where we got your information
We obtain professional and business contact information from business and professional sources, which may include:

We did not obtain your information directly from you. We provide this notice so you can understand how your information entered our business-contact process.
Why we use your information
We use your professional contact information to identify relevant contacts at UK corporate businesses and to contact them about HiveHQ's products and services where we believe those services may be relevant to their business.
We do not sell your contact details or use them for unrelated purposes.
Our legal basis
We rely on legitimate interests under Article 6(1)(f) of the UK GDPR.
We have considered the purpose of the processing, whether using professional contact information is necessary for that purpose, and the impact on individuals' privacy and rights. We consider that relevant B2B outreach using professional contact information can be reasonably expected in a commercial context, particularly where the information is publicly available or obtained from business-information sources.
We keep the information limited to what we reasonably need, use it for relevant business communications, and provide a straightforward way to object or opt out.
Our legitimate interests assessment is documented internally. You can ask us for information about that assessment.
Who may process your information
We do not sell your information or provide it to other companies for their own marketing. We use selected technology and data providers to help us identify, verify, store, and communicate with business contacts. These fall into the following categories:
- Customer relationship management and contact-management platforms
- Business contact and company-information databases
- Market-intelligence platforms covering TikTok Shop and e-commerce
- Contact-data enrichment services
- Email verification services
- Email sending and outreach platforms
These providers may process information on our behalf or as independent providers, depending on the service and the applicable contractual arrangement. We take appropriate steps to ensure that providers handling personal information protect it and use it only for permitted purposes. We keep a current list of the specific providers we use, and you can request it by contacting us.
Where your information is processed
HiveHQ is based in the United States, and your information may be processed outside the UK by our team and our service providers. We are reviewing our transfer arrangements with each provider and will apply the appropriate safeguards required under UK data protection law.
Who we contact
Our outreach is directed only at registered corporate businesses. We check every company against the Companies House register before contact and exclude sole traders and individuals.
We contact people by email and through professional networking platforms, including LinkedIn. We do not use this process for telephone marketing or SMS.
How long we keep your information
We normally keep business-contact information for up to 24 months from the date we collected it, unless we have a documented reason to retain it for longer, such as an ongoing business relationship, an unresolved request, or a legal obligation.
If you object to direct marketing, we may retain limited information necessary to record and respect your objection so that we do not contact you again. This may mean keeping a minimal suppression record even if other information about you is deleted.
How to make us stop
If you do not want to receive marketing communications from us, any of these options works:
- Click the unsubscribe link in an email from us
- Reply to our email and tell us to stop
- Send an email to privacy@hivehq.ai
We will record your objection and suppress your contact details from future direct marketing. We will not ask you to explain why you want to stop.
Your other data-protection rights
Depending on the circumstances, you may have the right to:
- Ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you
- Ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete information
- Ask us to delete your personal information
- Ask us to restrict how we use your information
- Ask for certain information in a portable format
- Object to processing based on legitimate interests
- Object at any time to the use of your personal information for direct marketing
You can exercise these rights by contacting privacy@hivehq.ai. We normally respond within one month. If a request is particularly complex, the law may allow us to extend the response period, and we will explain this to you.
Automated decision-making
We do not use your personal information to make decisions about you solely through automated processing that produce legal or similarly significant effects.
We may use business information, data-enrichment tools, or other technology to help identify relevant business prospects for our outreach. This does not determine your legal rights or access to services.
How we protect your information
We use appropriate technical and organisational measures designed to protect professional and business contact information against unauthorised access, loss, misuse, or disclosure. Access is limited to people and service providers who need the information for the purposes described in this notice.
If you have a concern
If you believe we have handled your personal information incorrectly, please contact us first at privacy@hivehq.ai so that we can investigate and respond.
You also have the right to complain to the UK's Information Commissioner's Office (ICO).
